JetBlue is full of passionate people who want to make a difference in the world. Through our Community Connection volunteer program, we help crewmembers connect with meaningful opportunities to inspire something special in their own backyards. In 2014,1,584 crewmembers completed 103,372 hours of community service. For every 25 hours of service logged, our crewmembers earn the opportunity to donate a return flight to any charity of their choice.
It’s how all JetBlue crewmembers inspire others–in the board room, at the gate, on the aircraft and everywhere in between. We embrace five key principles of leadership to empower all crewmembers to make a difference by positively influencing others where they are. Here, inspiration might strike by the pool, at the gym or even playing pool with your fellow crewmembers at our friendly Tailfin Bar. The JetBlue Lodge at our Orlando Support Center and Training Facility is a beautiful home away from home and cultural center for JetBlue crewmembers visiting Orlando for new hire orientation or recurrent training.
Being ‘green’ saves bucks. By using less fuel and recycling much of our waste, we cut costs. Keeping oceans and communities clean boosts tourism, increasing our customer base. On any given day, hundreds of crewmembers are working to translate our sustainability ideals into our operations and decisions. We know that environmental responsibility cannot be a side consideration – it requires full-time dedication, and we have multiple crewmembers focusing specifically on these issues.
